All Star Night at Hammons Field

Posted by Ron_Coluccio on June 26th, 2008

What a great evening! Hammons field was a sea of people enjoying a full night of entertainment along with some extra baseball. What a great job by the Springfield Cardinal organization to bring us the Texas League All Star Game on a nearly perfect summer night. We got a taste of the Liverpool Legends performing several Beatle hits after being brought in by helicopter, all the team mascots were there providing endless skits and laughs, along with the usual contests and games. Various local baseball teams were there and as always the Father-Son combo with the young one wearing his baseball glove in search of a memory. What a night Springfield-and we got to see some future major leaguers do what they do best! Good Job!!

Evangel University Golf

Posted by Ron_Coluccio on May 30th, 2008

The Men’s golf team may be adding 2 additional tournaments to its fall schedule beginning in 2008. This can have a huge benefit in their national rankings as their limited fall schedule penalizes them in the rankings of other NAIA programs. Last season the Crusaders were ranked as high as 26th nationally before falling dramatically due entirely to inactivity. So let’s hope this helps the mens golf team continue to rise among the country’s respected collegiate golf programs.
